Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is an episodic graphic adventure video game series developed and published by Telltale Games. Based on Marvel Comics' Guardians of the Galaxy comic book series, the game's first episode was released in April 18, 2017.

The plot centers on the Guardians finding an artifact of great power, called the 'Eternity Forge' that each individually covets, but must protect it from the malicious Kree Hala the Accuser who wants it for herself.

Back to the Future: The Game is an episodic graphic adventure based on the Back to the Future film franchise. The game was developed and published by Telltale Games as part of a licensing deal with Universal Pictures. Bob Gale, co-creator, co-writer and co-producer of the film trilogy, assisted Telltale in writing the game's story. Original actors Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd allowed the developers to use their likenesses in the game for the lead characters Marty McFly and Doc Brown, respectively. Lloyd reprises his role as Doc, while A.J. Locascio plays the role of Marty; Fox later appeared to voice two cameo roles in the final episode, reprising his role as future versions of Marty McFly in addition to playing his forefather William.

The game is split-up into five episodes available on multiple gaming platforms, the first episode released for Microsoft Windows and OS X on December 22, 2010. PlayStation 3 and iOS versions followed in February 2011. Episodes 2 through 5 were released throughout February to June 2011, with the final episode released on June 23, 2011. Telltale published the series as retail products for the PlayStation 3 and Wii consoles for North America. Deep Silver published the retail PlayStation 3 and Wii versions for Europe on May 4, 2012. To commemorate the films’ 30th anniversary, Telltale Games released the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on October 13, 2015. The ports feature updated voice work from Tom Wilson, who played Biff Tannen in the films (Biff was voiced by Kid Beyond in the original release).

"Hologram Will" is an interactive science fiction game. Businessman and millionaire David Mann has passed away, but before his death he recorded a hologram that acts as his will and testament. The hologram has been given to one of his heirs who has become the will's executor. The player can choose between three different heirs who each has their own unique message recorded for them. The inheritance consists of several rare and valuable items collected by Mann, in addition to company shares. As the executor, the player can also increase their inheritance by claiming the other heir's shares. However, legal and other fees will be incurred during this process and can exceed the net benefits of the will, making this a costly affair. (Source: Author's description)

"Beyond Tomorrow" is an interactive text-based science fiction game made in Twine. The player assumes control of a wealthy business empire whose goal is to lead a successful expansion into space. The story revolves around the different choices and consequences one must face when encountering new planets and worlds. The game includes four unique planets that each has its different expansion possibilities and conflicts. The style of play is entirely up to the player and allows for either a violent or peaceful playthrough, as well as a combination of the two. The game uses the network hypertext structure and includes loop passages to avoid a complete restart after finishing one storyline. Several passages also use a 'either' function that allows them to have different outcomes.

Inspired by the “They Might Be Giants” song of the same name, Replicant is a psychological sci-fi thriller which uses the interactive fiction medium to explore memory, humanity, and identity, and asks, what really makes us the people we are? Our physical bodies? Our life experience? The truths we tell others? A person wakes up in a mysterious lab with no memories of their previous life and nothing to go on but their own name. This work was created for the Nanobots album, a collection of Twine games based on They Might Be Giants songs, which can be found at http://nanobots.shark.moe/. Content warning for gore

anna anthropy’s The Hunt for the Gay Planet is a text-based Twine game that uses the medium of Twine to comment more broadly and bitingly on the status of queer representation in videogames. The work takes its premise from a mainstream online roleplaying game, Bioware’s Star Wars: The Old Republic, which in 2013 announced they were expanding their romance options in-game to include homosexual options, but only on a single planet in the galaxy. anthropy satirizes this decision with this beautifully retro piece, in which the player is invited to gradually explore the galaxy (looking under rocks and in caves) in search of a lesbian romance. The game serves as a powerful example of Twine’s potential as a platform for commenting on and engaging with AAA gaming, as Twine builds on the traditions of hypertext to allow for complex decision management and choice-driven experience design. Dietrich Squinkifer’s (aka Squinky) Quing’s Quest VII: The Death of Videogames was created for Ruin Jam 2014, a game jam inspired by tensions over the identity of games and gamers and particularly responding to accusations that feminists and advocates for diversity in games had set out to “ruin” the games industry. Quing’s Quest is built in Twine and takes inspiration from old-school adventure games, including Sierra’s King’s Quest series. The game takes place on a craft called the “Social Justice Warrior” (after a commonly-used pejorative term for those who point out misogyny, racism, transphobia and many other forms of discrimination and hatred online and in gaming culture), and features a character exiled from Videogames after the invasion of the “misogynerds.” This work captures the tension of a historical moment in which only some voices, games and critiques are heard and others are silenced and dismissed. RIMA (twitter stream http://twitter.com/squidsilo) is a performance installation and digital media work that conceptually addresses strategies for survival by way of poetically re-framing the facts behind the effects of solitary confinement and isolation into a fictional present/future. Notions around stimulus and memory are played out through the performers movement within the physical space (proximity, sound, touch) and the data collection of distinct environmental changes (cold, hot, light, dark), which trigger strategically placed sensors collated by a computer program. This in turn dispatches a relational virtual text stream delivered to a live webpage and/or twitter feed (twitter fiction). The overall effect is a mimic of real-time thoughts, responses and actions, which over time slowly build into a fictional narrative somewhere between an indistinct present and a sci-fi future.
