'Trujillo' spreekt voor zich en is pas geslaagd wanneer het spontaan tot meerdere lezingen/ herhaaldelijk bekijken aanzet! Het stelt tevens de romantische kunstenaarsopvatting aan de orde (met de roos als leidmotief): een beetje kunstenaar moet groots kunnen afzien. Anders gezegd een beetje schrikbewind legt de kunst geen windeieren: doe er vooral uw maal mee!

Welcome stranger is ontworpen voor wachtruimtes en bestaat uit een animatie van dansende letters die steeds nieuwe verbanden vormen. Het geheel is gebaseerd op de uiteenlopende namen waarmee het spel ‘stoelendans’ in verschillende talen wordt aangeduid. Het werk kwam tot stand in het kader van het project Poëzie op het scherm, dat eens in de twee jaar gezamenlijk door het Nederlands Letterenfonds en het Mondriaan Fonds (voorheen Fonds BKVB) is georganiseerd.
A potential polyphony is an interactive text compilation which results in an ever-changing polyphone word-image composition. Poet Arnoud Van Adrichem and graphic designers Cox & Grusenmeyer developed under this creed a mobile browser "Money", in which hard-working taxpayers can reimburse their money by reading poems. How does it exactly work? All banks in Amsterdam are equiped by highly recognizable stickers which can be scanned with a smartphone or a tablet. These poems, who gain their visibility through the use of present-day technology, recoup about 0,11 euro each; an amount which almost accords to the taxes that someone with an average yearly income, daily loses on cultural purposes. "Money is a kind of poetry", according to Wallace Stevens. This application proves once again its purpose.
Onder dat credo ontwikkelden dichter Arnoud van Adrichem en grafisch ontwerpers Cox & Grusenmeyer de mobiele browser 'Geld', waarmee hardwerkende belastingbetalers hun belastingcenten kunnen terugverdienen door gedichten te lezen. Hoe werkt het? Alle banken in Amsterdam zijn voorzien van duidelijk herkenbare stickers die kunnen worden gescand met een smartphone of tablet. De gedichten die dan zichtbaar worden leveren elk 0,11 euro op; een bedrag dat ongeveer overeenkomt met het belastinggeld dat iemand met een gemiddeld jaarkomen dagelijks kwijt is aan cultuur. 'Money is a kind of poetry', stelde Wallace Stevens ooit. Deze applicatie bewijst eens te meer zijn gelijk.

A series of web pages with on every page a text/poem whose content and presentation changes under the influence of online available dynamic data about events that take place elsewhere in the world. The link between a text and a website is determined by the thematic affinity between website and text. That relationship is not unambiguous, not one-dimensional, the text does not directly link to the site’s subject. The reader of the text itself has no influence on the content and presentation of that text. The influence is exercised by fluctuations in the data the website deals with, or by the online behaviour of the visitors to that website. So far one data poem has been created, namely: #1 : Stemmingswisselkoers (Mood Exchange Rate). A text that follows fluctuations in the AEX-index. As the market goes up, the text becomes more optimistic; with negative developments the text follows that downfall. Under influence of the tendencies in the market certain keywords and sentences will be replaced by others.
Een serie webpagina’s met op iedere pagina een tekst/gedicht waarvan de inhoud en de presentatie verandert onder invloed van online beschikbare dynamische gegevens over gebeurtenissen die elders op de wereld plaatsvinden. De koppeling tussen een tekst en een website wordt bepaald door de thematische verwantschap tussen website en tekst. Die verwantschap is niet eenduidig, niet eendimensionaal, de tekst handelt niet direct over het onderwerp waar de aan die tekst gekoppelde site over gaat. De lezer van de tekst heeft zelf geen invloed op de inhoud en presentatie van die tekst. Die invloed wordt uitgeoefend door veranderingen in ded data van de site of door het online gedrag van bezoekers aan die website.Voor deze call hebben we één data poem gekozen: #1 : Stemmingswisselkoers (Mood Exchange Rate). Een tekst die veranderingen in de AEX-index volgt. Toont de beurs een stijgende lijn dan krijgt de tekst een optimistischer toon dan bij dalende koersen. In dat laatste geval wordt de tekst pessimistischer van toon. Onder invloed van de stemming worden bepaalde sleutelwoorden en zinnen vervangen door andere.

The poem ‘Jacques Brel op 8 april 1929 bij zijn geboorte Avenue du Diamant 138, Schaerbeek’ (‘Jacques Brel on the 8th of April 1929 at his birth Avenue du Diamant 138, Schaerbeek’) is a part of the cycle ‘Birth cry’. In this case the poet puts words the day of his birth into Jacques Brel’s mouth. Brel on his first day of life is speaking in words of a vision he has about hiscareer as a famous Belgian chansonnier.
Graphic designer Timo Pennings made from the lines of poetry a silent film where the words of Brel sing, jump and dance like he did in the theatre. He added piano music and the noise of the sea (Jacques Brel was an enthusiastic yachtsman).

Originally conceived as an interactive installation for the 2007 Literature and New Media project in the Waag, Amsterdam, this production by Jan Baeke and Alfred Marseille mixes poetry, moving images and sound in a movie directed by words, and talks about memory, longing, the misguided monologue and the importance of the kitchen in modern society.

This version is an entirely new English language edit made for the 2011 Beijing Book Fair and also featured at the 2011 Noorderzon festival in Groningen (Netherlands).
