Short biography

Having studied Visual Art and Literature in undergraduate years, Natalie is drawn to the mythopoeic nature of narrative as it evolves in the digital humanities. Her Master's thesis involved designing a Flash game called "The Waste Land Tarot," which used characters and elements from T.S. Eliot's poem visually recombined and interpreted in the context of an electronic fortuneteller. Current research focuses on the expressive affordances of videogames for interactive storytelling and the role of the narrative designer in balancing the aesthetics of gameplay with plot and storyworld.
